Cup of Tea With a Refugee #KettlesBoiled

Everybody loves a cup of tea.

Cup of Tea with a Refugee is a campaign from the Scottish Refugee Council which uses one of Scotland’s favourite pastimes to bring people together.

Whether you like a big mug of builder’s tea, a dainty cup of Earl Grey or a samovar of mother’s Spiced Chai, the idea is to combine a love of tea with hospitality to create opportunities to hear refugee voices, share stories and help make strong and lasting connections at a community level.

“Refugees are often just seen as statistics or news stories. We want to change the conversation and show that they’re real people, just like us. So why not join us over a brew so we can show some proper Scottish hospitality and find out why we’re not that different after all.”

A simple concept that Scottish Refugee Council are happy that you borrow no matter where you’re based! You can catch up with some of the meet ups that tweeted using the #KettlesBoiled hashtag and find out more information and downloadable resources on their website.
